cal, if we had kaka i'm sure after 3 or 4 bad games you would be first to call him a disgrace to the shirt.

No i wouldn't.

The fact is, because Lescott is such a cult hero, he's just being exempt from criticism. When the fact is, he's been [Poor language removed].

He's had alot of critisism so your wrong.

If it was Cahill you would say nothing to be honest. Lescott will get back to his best, I have no doubts about that. He just needs a run in one position.

People seem to have forgot that he's interchanged between left back and centre half, once he settles in one position he'll be fine.

No, he just think's he's too good for left back.

It doesn't send a good sign to our players if Lescott doesn't get dropped, he's been awful.

But if it was any of the defence im sure he would say the same. Cahill playing badly doesnt make us concede goals!

Cahill playing badly means we don't score goals and he offers [Poor language removed] all. People like yourself and Cal would say [Poor language removed] all, you'd probably claim he's still a must in the team.

Lescott has had about 10 bad games in two years, no way does he deserve to be dropped. He's also been used in two different positions this season, give him a run in one position and I'm sure he will improve.

Dropping him will do him no good at all, it'll also unsettle the defense once again and we'll be bringining in a defender who's looked very vulnerable.

Do you think Moyes explains his decisions to his players?Or do you think he just gives them a teamsheet at 2.55pm (or whenever we kick off) and says get on with it.

If he is the man manager we think he is i'm sure the players will understand why those who get picked do.

I cant stress this enough, but dropping Lescott right now could do way more damage then playing him.

He got dropped against Blackburn last year and came back a totally different player.

I know you hate Cahill, so i'm just gonna totally blank that.

I'd like Baines to play because I've always been largely impressed by Baines and think he deserves a run in the team. We paid a fair bit for him and I don't want to see him just rot on the bench as someone else said. Lescott's been a bit off and so I think it's worth giving Leighton a shot. If worst comes to worst, we can put Lescott or Valente on anyway.

I hate Cahill? Laughable to be honest. I just think Saha would also be a good option for the team, I think they can share goalscoring responsibilities alongside the Yak. Cahill for the Prem, Saha for European games.

What I'm saying is if Cahill was in the same position as Lescott you'd be sticking up for him and wanting him in the team. Lescott has been our most consistent player over the past two seasons, he doesn't deserve to be dropped on three poor games.

The same goes for Arteta to be honest, if he played poorly you'd say [Poor language removed] all. Dropping Lescott will do him no good at all, and especially dropping him for someone who's been equally as bad. Baines has been woeful, anyone who's watched him so far this season would agree with that.

I'm worried about the back line, chopping and changing it will do us no favours at all. The derby is coming up and we need a settled team, Neville-Yobo-Jagielka-Lescott is our best combination and should be used.

I don't disagree with that back 4. But i think if someone is playing poorly then they should be dropped especially if you have 2 other competent player's in that position.

whats happened to me main man? he really has gone from hero to zero, i said to the lad next to me last night that he does really need to be given a reality check, i think he's getting arrogant as he knows his place in the 11 is his. I havent voted as my choice would stick him on the bench for a sundays game and the blackburn game and replace him with nuno and stick lescott back in for the derby, hopefully that will be 10 days rest and a time for reflection for him. He surely can't have just turned [Poor language removed] overnight, sort it out joleon!!!(n)(n)

Fair enough, I think we'll agree to disagree.

I think dropping Joleon would be stupid but I'm willing to see what happens and trust Moyes's judgement. Hopefully he does the right thing.

I'd stick with the same back 4 with Castillo, Cahill, Arteta, Fellaini & Baines across the middle with Yakubu up front by himself.

Anichebe won't be playing this weekend and neither will Pienaar or Osman (bench?) whilst Vaughan's better utilised off the bench.

Get Baines and Arteta either side slinging in crosses now that Fellaini and Cahill are on the pitch, have to use the height of one and the freakish deadliness of the other in the box.

I reckon this is probably what Moyes has wanted to do, but with Stoke and Standard being reasonably physical and tall sides, Anichebe had been a smarter choice than little Leighton.

Moyes strikes me as the type of manager that would call Lescott into his office, tell him that Baines is starting against Hull in his place, and offer a few words of encouragement or a kick up the backside depending upon the player and the situation.

Starting the next match on the bench might do wonders for Lescott. Might do some good for the team as well.
