What is teh situation with handing in a request these days. Did it not used to be that the player got a percentage of the fee or something if they did not hand in the request and so if they do it means the club get more money ?

Maybe not at £5m, but the Demichelis move means that Athletico might be in the market for a defender. If they get the Alderweirdolid fella from Ajax then maybe Ajax would be interested; failing that, maybe Feyenoord would be interested, if there's any truth in the rumour of us pursuing Bruno Indi? Or how about PSG, to replace the lad they just sentenced to a few years at the RS?

We need to be pushing this aggressively - If Heitinga stays, he's simply a bloody expensive barrier to Duffy and Stones.

In my best dreamworld, we send Heitinga and £3m to Besiktas for Manny.... but the global market only spreads as far as Wigan, sadly.

Well, I'm not a scout or anything, but I bet there's all sorts of promising strikers in France, Belgium, Holland and Spain that we could get for around 1-5 Million

They'll mostly be unproven of course and it will require a gamble, but they are out there

We could even have a look in the Championship or Scotland. Mackay-Steven at Dundee United is impressive and Leigh Griffiths is coming off a good season at Hibs
