I've heard two more rumors from the manager market, and that's Allardyce and Simeone.

Allardyce I'm cautious about, but he'd keep us up without a doubt, I feel like he's a good no-[Poor language removed] manager, but with more BPL experience than the likes of Unsworth.

For Simeone... if we could I'd be amazed, but we'd have to pay BIG money to get him. And even then, I like his style of play. It's a great combination of fierceness and precision, and Atletico winning the league and doing fairly well in the UCL has proven it's effectiveness. He's losing out to Madrid and Barca who can afford the best in the world, and although his team has some superstars, he gets the very best out of his players.

Until January, that's what we need... and frankly if we were to open up a 250-300 million war chest for Simeone, I think he'd consider a BPL run.

the downside is we're so early in the season, and still very bad. there's no market to replace personnel for our squad, and there's a long insufferable wait until we CAN change the team, much less start the season over again. Plus, we're now out of one cup, and practically dead in Europe.

so yeah, this is the 100% first time for a manager to join... but hey, you by big while the market is at its lowest... maybe a big manager will see that. maybe we're all desperate and are WAY over speculating just like over the summer (that one sounds a bit more right)

gary neville stating the obvious

everyone and their pet fish knows we have the worst defence in the prem

no pace, slow reactions, no cohesion

half the time baines can't be arsed to bomb forward

we need to completely overhaul our defence

city spend over 100 mil on pacy wingbacks in the summer just to prove how important width on the flanks is.

you're right on so many levels about the problem in the full back spots. It's always been one of Everton's strongest parts of the team in the past... and nowadays it's one of the worst

Just listened to it this morning. He's even said "we" more times in it than Koeman did in his time here. Big Sam isn't my dream manager but I could get behind him if he came in. I wouldn't have said that a month or so ago.
Certainly seems very keen on the job and has basically presented his strategy if he were to get it. Not the most glamorous choice but maybe it’s needs must at the moment

It's where we are at the moment. I have pressed my panic button already. I hope Unsworth can get something out of the next game and give us hope and the chance of escaping from the Sam option. However... at this moment, he'd be the man I would pick, even though I think that Unsworth or Dyche or Tuchel would have to go through the same processes of toughening up our defence and working on nicking goals or succeeding at set pieces in the short to medium term and still be limited with what we can get in to bolster the squad in January.

Worrying times.

The MotM vote is open until midnight Wednesday, so if you haven't yet cast your vote, there's still time...
