Of course they should. It has proven to have benefit medically and there are no deaths directly as a result of smoking dope. It doesn't deteriorate the lungs anywhere near as much as smoking does and it doesn't restrict the body as much as alcohol.

I can't fathom a reason as to why weed is illegal yet alcohol and smoking isn't. Truly baffling.

it mainly because alcohol and cigarettes are easily controlled and taxable.

weed on the other hand can be grown by almost anyone who wants to.

Islamic state would cease to exist if weed was compulsory. Do you fancy doing some jihadi type stuff today ? Nah im eating a packet of revels instead

don't touch the stuff myself but sure why not, if it's regulated which would hopefully get the more dangerous stuff off the market, and earn a bit of money for each city.

The smell will be horrible for a while like, but people do it already, and people drink ale all the time which is just as bad too so meh, sure why not.

I'm surprised that this is the most successful online petition to date, in terms of number of signatures.

Personally don't use it and never have. It holds zero interest for me so I don't think I ever would use it in future either, but I can see the argument for legalising it and taxing it as a source of increased revenue.

Not a thing will happen until the current generation of Daily Mail readers and the like die out. Too many votes to be lost amongst the middle Ingerlanders who quite simply view all form of drugs as being one step away from gates of hell.

There's no convincing argument against it and everywhere it's been legalised or decriminalised thus far it has proven to be a success.

This country's drug policy is so backwards it's ridiculous. "They're illegal because they're evil and they're evil because they're illegal" seems to be about the long and short of it.

Goodison was a much mellower place when you could have a spliff during the game. The narkiness in the back of the Main Stand is a disgrace. None of that snarling when the lads used to have a chong up there. Lower Gwladys... They never booed like that when the spliffs were ablaze. Chilled harmony was everywhere.

Legalise it I say. Even if it's just for match days.

;)
