He needs to learn how to break open stubborn defence and play his best and most effective players.
The effective approach is short intricate passing style which only works well with creative and intelligent players. There're 2 problems that's hindering this style, hoofing and the wrong choice of players namely Cahill and Phil.

Great post nate, we have struggled to break down teams who play two deep banks of four against us all season!

What fustrate me is we've players capable of doing the job but we're not playing them regularly. Billy should start ahead of Cahill, Osman on the right with Coleman behind him. He'll make Osman look good as well as double up as a winger. We'll be capable of attacking from any part of the pitch. Passing, movemet and creativity everywhere without spending a single cent.

id just lov to see a bit more optimism shown ffrom the bench.....like how many games have we seen where we thought the game has swung and we are now second best and a fresh pair of legs or a small tactical change might swing it back to us and it never happens

its almost there is a fear of changing it around ...sticking with the tactic of grinding it out rather than admittting one of our players havnet played well on that particular day and its need t be changed

but on we go

Moyes isnt great with changing tactics and its rare that his substitutes come good. That is why he will never be Man Utd's manager. The one thing that he does do well is set out the squad to start the match. They know what they have to do. Its if it doesnt work that we struggle. Moyes bring a hell of a lot to the club which makes him the best manager for us. He makes players better and gets them to work together and also buys the right players with good atitudes the majority of the time. Id like to know a manger who even comes close to that. And before Wenger comes up he bring in a lot of players with few coming off.

You have got a point over tactics though . It's why we'll never win in Europe . However , it is wider than just him .
We have had 3 international captains this year - interchange Yobo with Donovan - plus , Taggart's Fav' , Pip , yet explain Bham at home x2 , Tootenham home and away , ditto the [Poor language removed] , don't even mention Portugal !!!

Still , can't complain .
