Why is Southampton the must win game? There are some vital ones coming up but surely this isn't one is it?
I mean wins against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal would more than make up for a loss tomorrow would it not?
It would be great and we should get a result but I won't burn my Everton kits like a few here seem on the edge of doing if we get a draw put it that way.

It's about keeping in touch, mate. At the beginning of a season, you're entitled to lose a few points in your pursuit of 4th. An unexpected defeat in November is a setback but redemable. An unexpected defeat in April can be catastrophic.

We could do with winning this one.

brennan getting murked here, he should have stated he meant one loss in 40 home league games instead of just saying home games

This weekend was a rare time when both Spurs and Arsenal had games where you'd expect them to lose, while we have a comparatively easy away game at Southampton. If we can't gain points at times like this it's hard to see us doing it when we're the ones playing Chelsea away and those two have easier matches.

If we can't beat Southampton away we're not likely to pick many wins up at the top 6. Also this game will keep us within a point off spurs (keeping pressure on them) and give us 6 point breathing space from the chasing pack. Very important game.
Yet funnily enough we're often just the team that does just that. drops points in the 'easy' games and picks them up against the likes of Chelsea and City

It is important though. Psychologically as much as anything.

We need to win tomorrow just to stay within a point of 4th. We're not levelling with 4th, we're not overtaking 4th, we're not putting some distance between ourselves and the rest. We're merely closing the gap. If that doesn't scream must win I don't know what does.

at this point of the season every game is vital if we want to keep up in the fight for fourth.

If Moyes can sign player/s who can boost up the squad we should be in the mix.
If not, I see it to be extremely difficult.

I think we all would want to see ambitious signing to signal everybody, but atm it seems a bit far fetched.
