Pretty much my feeling - I can see us finishing between 9th and 13th. If I was Carlo I’d just use this time to prepare and basically audition some of the younger players for next season to see if they’re going to be good enough for the squad.

I still have no idea how the teams at the bottom, us included, can be ok with this going on. How can you say, with a straight face, that this is a fair way to finish the season and have relegations? With all the rule changes it's barely even the same game.

I think we will end up 10th. If we miraculously beat Liverpool I'll think a couple of places higher.

Financially it will be rather important to finish as high up as we can. Every place is worth a couple of million.

I'm honestly not bothered as long Gomes can use the time to hopefully get back to proper match fitness, still maintain he was rushed back and our other CMs should be ashamed of themselves that he was.

Also, as long as the likes of Kean, Gordon and maybe Branthwaite get some minutes and have us in better stead to judge if these players can do something here next season. Qualifying for Europe would be boss, but a bridge too far given the Arsenal, Chelsea and United results.

We can't write off the remainder of the season, it has financial and football implications for us.

We need to finish on some degree of momentum and positivity, that is something that is going to be key during Ancelotti's tenure.

Not expecting us to get into Europe, but we still need to aim for it.
