Player Valuation: £750k
1130: Brad Smith reports: "There is a player currently undergoing a Medical at London Colney. It is rumoured to be Gervinho. Also, it appears Arsenal are in adanced talks with Jagielka about signing."

I suppose Moyes could do plenty with £15 million He could keep Heitinga happy, bring Upson in on a free, sign O'Shea (but please not Brown) and still have enough for N'Zogbia.

I don't think selling Jagielka is that bad of an idea, for the right price. He's had his days with us and if were to play better football then Heitinga is our man, Signing N'Zog, O'Shea and maybe someone else would be better for us on the whole too!

*Get Wes Brown Jersey!

I wish someone would be interested in Phil Neville.

Complete with the added £10m "english player premium" rule which i believe is being introduced together with the financial fair play rules.

Jags for captain!

I'm not sure whether to believe this or not. I like Jags a lot, but he'll be 29 in August and his aimless balls out of defence are an obstacle to playing attractive football. If we can get £15m (or more) for him and re-invest about £10m in the 24 year old Scott Dann or the 25 year old Gary Cahill, that will be a neat bit of business. I certainly wouldn't want to replace him with someone who's career has already peaked, like O'Shea.

We already have the replacement ready in Heitinga, which is why I would be happy to see Upson or O'Shea in and wait for the youngsters to come good.

If we spend big on a direct replacement what hope does Duffy have, and where does that leave Johnny boy?. The money could be better spent elsewhere.

My only real big objection to this is that I saw Jags as our future captain.

I don't see why Heitinga can't do the same job defensively, really, and his distribution is much better than Jags.

I don't know what goes on between the players on the pitch, but Jags seems to do an awful lot of shouting and organising in defence. We might miss that.

Could be a good deal for us though if we were able to bring in someone like Upson for cover if it meant we got a decent striker or winger.

We can let Yobo go without worrying about defensive cover.

Sell jags and we'll start having trouble with that position. Distin has max 2 seasons left in him, Neville too.

Would love for Duffy & Mustafi to come through here but so far, nothing.

Tough call.

Nikodem is smarter with his mouth - says the right things and knows when to keep his mouth shut. Heitinga hasn't learned this and probably never will. Jags may have higher aspirations but he'd never say that publicly.

Heitinga is younger, plays with a chip on his shoulder (something a CB definitely needs) and has a better pedigree.

If the price is 15-20 mill, you have to sell Jags. Lets Moyes add to the squad and have the extra cash to resign Fellaini.

Take the Jags cash + Yobo + Yak = winger, striker and some CB/LB cover.

Upson is awful. I wouldn't take him even on a free. O'Shea is alright, but I'd like to try and bring the average age of the side down and build for the future. If I had to choose between selling Heitinga or Jags, Johnny would be first out the door. I think he's a liability.

We'd be replacing like for like if we brought Dann or Cahill in to replace Jagielka, so Duffy wouldn't be any worse off. Infact, he's already better off because of Yobo's departure.

I can't see him going myself.. but if he did and we got a £15million fee, i would have mixed feelings. Not sure we can rely on Heitinga, more his attitude than ability. But obviously the fee, should give us a bit to work with in the transfer market. Plenty of others i would move on first though, but if there aren't any buyers....

Ive got no objection to selling Jags. I honestly prefer Heitinga anyhow. Heitinga is much better at playing out of the back than Jags is *cringes at the thought of Jags lumping one forward aimlessly*. Also we would get more money in for selling Jags. Considering the goal for the summer is to reinvest in the squad I see this as a solid, safe sale. Jags leaves for 15-20m and we've already got a world cup final veteran to step right in and fill the hole. Maybe bring O'Shea for pretty cheap to provide a little extra cover. If not we have two very young, promising CBs that we can use and begin to integrate them into our first team.
