Conflicted on this one. As always seeing 15-20m being thrown around for a player is tempting. However, it's going to be difficult to replace him. Unless Moyes has some idea of a younger\cheaper replacement for Jags I am pretty much against it. As far as Heitinga....I don't trust him anymore as he comes off to me as thinking he's bigger than the club.

£15 - 20 million would be good business for everyone. We get some money, Arsenal get a very good centre-half and Jags gets to play at a level that should see him displace one of Rio and the Lion of Chelsea from the england team.

I doubt Wenger has more than £20m to spend unless they sell nasri and/or Fibre Glass.

Inflated English prices or not if they buy Gervinho for the £8m or £11m thats been touted i can't see him spending another £15m on a defender especially with Upson becoming a free agent. There may be other targets for them also. Although i remember Wenger saying before he was always looking to build for the future and considered a 29 year old too old for them.

Who knows that Wenger fella is a bit strange when it comes to his transfer policy.

Arsenal are skint anyway like us although they obviously have more assets and two scrapping shareholders ready to pump cash into them.

What is this madness?

Sell Rodwell, Sell Jagielka?

I give up, I really do.

You would rather sell a loyal and honest player like Jags and keep an utter ****ehawk like Heitinga who has lifted up his skirt at every Club who has shown interest.

Jags is 5 times the player Heitinga is and 10 times the man.

I've heard a whisper or two about this happening but it's very much a 2nd hand source and I can't verify it's valdity.

Well said.

Heitinga would probably STFU if he got more than the odd game in his favoured position, I think.

Fair point about us having trouble in that position down the line if we sell Jags though, whoever that was.

Totally agree with that bit especially-+1 (y)

Loyalty and humility may not be modern day footballs best pals but it's what I grew up with watching the blues. We do need a dose of the arrogant type dotted around the squad if we have any kind of aspiration to do better in the future.

However I expect you can replace Jags the player for a not too outrageous price but the impression I get as others have intimated is that our defence would be the poorer for it and no doubt the team too.
