Late Goals

Great video that. The difference between a 1st minute winner and a last minute winner is huge.it gives me an adrenaline rush that can last for days. Tom Cleverly even managed to bag 1 at Newcastle the other year that improved my Christmas

Not one which get talked about much for obvious reasons but a very very late goal for me which stands out is Stuart McCall's equalizer with the last kick of normal time to take the 1989 FA Cup final to extra-time. It was a proper scruffy goal as well.

An extremely late effort against your biggest rivals at Wembley in the days when the FA Cup was still massive. No wonder there was absolute bedlam in our end. Anyone else who was there that day will recall it.

Don't remember that one,but the killer one for me was Lampard snr at Elland rd,how did that go in?

...it spun inside the post and indicated their name was on the Cup. I was in the ground for that one but Tommy Booths last minute effort in the Villa Park semi final was a bad experience for me as a young Blue.

I was right behind that when he headed it and it was going a yard wide.

Many reasons I love this.

  • I was there
  • Mrs favourite game of all time
  • The comeback was unreal
  • The state of the ginger inbreds in the home section when we scored the 3rd
  • It stopped the utter flute banging his drum in the home end

Can someone tell me who scored on 59 seconds against the Opponents in White? Looks like 1998, maybe against Spurs (One2One sponsor in the background). Players and crowd went mad there!

My underrated favourites there were Osman against Portsmouth and Bent against Southampton. That Osman goal was crucial in the season we came 4th and came way after the time was supposed to be up.
Think it was Joe Max Moore getting a last minute equaliser against Spurs in early 2000 mate.
