Me too,I've run out of all my lucky omens, they just don't work against that lot!!

Mad isn't it the things you try. Socks, underwear, tops, hats badges, scarves, sleeping at a certain time not sleeping at all, certain food, certain drink, different prayers, going the toilet, not going the toilet, walking a certain route......all these things I've had some kind of ritual with at some point or another lol

Loved them both but Sharp was the better player overall.
Best memories of Latch:
Semi final winner v Bolton
Replay equaliser v Villa at Hillsborough ( never heard noise like it as the corner was being taken)
Goal v Villa in second replay at OT
30th league goal in 78
Best memories of Sharp:
THAT goal v Spurs at Goodison
THAT goal at the Pit
V Watford cup final 84
V Sheff Wed semi at Villa Park 86

lots of others of both of course but they are the best ones

Controversial one perhaps,
Latch a total predator in the Penalty area, he only really existed in there and I can't really recall him linking play up too much,I am probably incorrect but I can only recall him knocking one in from outside the area(Leicester away 5-1 1977?)played in some good sides and some poor teams in his seven year spell with us, close but never in a team that got over the line trophy wise unfortunately, he truly deserved something tangible from it.We all loved Latch back then.
Sharpy, our second highest goalscorer behind Dixie, although he spent three or four years longer with us than Latch(probably Latch would have had that record if he had a longer career with us),again played in some good(very good!!)sides and some poorish ones too, more of a scorer of great goals than a great goalscorer in my humble opinion, if it was instinctive,he would finish it, if Sharpy had time to think the chance could be gone!!Very good target man who could bring others into play superbly.
Personally I would go for Sharpy........just,others may well disagree but that's what it's all about eh?:)
Maybe our fine Mods would want to set a poll on this?
Poll sorted ;)

Always remember playing the replay at Port Vale the season after we won the cup,I had a little sense of foreboding about the game so dug out the same shirt I had worn at Wembley the previous May,of course we lost that evening and I don't recall wearing the shirt again lol

Given a decent winger/crosser of the ball, both Latchford and Sharp would score headers regularly... from open play though, I think Sharp edges it albeit narrowly.
Latchford had Dave Thomas to put the ball on a sixpence, Sharp had both Steven and Sheedy - whatever your choice, we were blessed to have centre forwards of both their qualities.

They equalised as well last minute in the game at Goodison. I knew we'd lose that game away had cup upset written all over it :(

I think you've got it spot on mate. More or less. I loved Latch but he let us down a few times, a lot of the times in Derby matches when there where times when he allowed their defenders, particularly Tommy Smith to bully him and he missed a great chance to win one once at the pit when he tried to lob clemence not knowing that clemence had made to come out but then gone back towards goal taking the ball quite easily. But then again Sharpy did the same probably more often. Missing some easy chances in the Derby. Not allowing them to bully him but missing a lot of great chances against them, some of them easy ones. Yes it's not all about the derbies, I'm just using them as examples, but as for who was the best then the answer is in the stats. It's got to be Sharpy. 2nd best goal scorer of all time. League champion twice. FA cup winner. ECW. The proof of the pudding and all that.
