One of my films of the year so far, but will deffo divide opinion.
Set in an America gripped by a crippling financial depression, an annual event - The Long Walk, offers untold riches to the lad who can walk across America non stop for the longest distance.
The catch being, if you fall below a certain pace for a set period of time, you are shot in the head by the accompanying soldiers.
Slow, but incredibly dark and brutal, with some proper graphic stuff.
The two lads in leads are fantastic and the way film slowly builds to the finale, where only one of the boys can come out of it alive, has your anxiety going through the roof.
A very thought provoking and well put together film, that won’t be for everyone, due to its slowness and graphic brutality.
I thought it was outstanding.
