Okay , but a bit predictable

X-Men Apocalypse

Some phenomenal scenes (Magneto in the forest, everything with Quicksilver etc), but the film also kinda falls flat on it's face, as it couldn't get me invested in what was going on with the main villain and his crew.
Also made zero sense how a couple of the bad guys suddenly turned into goodguys after literally killing millions of people and everyone just seemed fine with it. Moira MacTaggert awakens Apocalypse, which ultimately leads to every big City in the world being smashed, and she doesn't even seem a little bit bothered by it. Oh, and seeing Wolverine was amazing. Fan service, sure, so I guess I'm a fan.
The action sequences we're mostly boring and predictable CGI fests.

McAvoy and Fassbender are brilliant together. And I think Tye Sheridan were pretty good as well. Can't say the same for Jennifer Lawrence (she can't act) or Sophie Turner (she's Sansa Stark. If they wanted her to be someone else, at least change her hair color) though. They didn't work at all for me.

The good moments in this film are done well enough for it to get a decent rating, but it has some severe flaws that will probably annoy more people than just me.

6/10

Watched Danny Boyle's Sunshine last night
Was good up to 3/4 of the way through and the twist was a bit silly
Liked that two of the crew froze to death so near the sun

This was on the horror channel last night.

Quite an effective creepy psychological thriller, with a very good cast.

Really simple story - Thandie Newton and Cillian Murphy rent a cottage on a remote island, to try and sort their marital problems out, when a soldier ( Jamie Bell ) is washed ashore, telling tales of a global pandemic.

It all goes horribly wrong from hem onwards.

Well acted, a really nice twist at the end, Jamie Bell steals it and Thandie Newton is just perfectly beautiful ( as always )

Worth watching.
