I don't think so, for these reasons:

The story was clearly an allegory of their relationship, and a fairly telegraphed interpretation of how she treated him. He was failing as a writer until she left him, and he ended up authoring a great book because he had a well of pain that infused his writing with something it never had before. He got his revenge. All the stuff she wanted from him, for him to be less sensitive, financially stable, more successful etc. he achieved because she left him. When he realised her vision of what he should be, he didn't need her anymore.
Excellent summary in the spoiler, I thought the film was poor though.

Summertime (2015) - (I do love my sub-titled films)
'A French-Belgian romantic drama film directed by Catherine Corsini, co-written with Laurette Polmanss. The film stars Cécile de France, Izïa Higelin and Noémie Lvovsky. Set in 1971, Delphine (Higelin), the daughter of farmers in countryside France, decides to move to Paris in attempts to find her own life outside of her parents' influence. After helping some feminists escape some trouble, she meets Carole (de France), who introduces her into helping their cause. Delphine introduces Carole into a whole other world as well.'

Loved it!

Get A Job (2016) - Comedy, starring Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick and Miles Teller.
'Get a Job is a 2016 American comedy film directed by Dylan Kidd and written by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel, about a group of friends recently graduated and their efforts to secure employment.'
Makes me feel either young or stupid to read this review -"Get a Job" has a simple premise that should have wide appeal, but its dumbed-down approach will likely strike home for only the most juvenile viewers.

I can sort of understand some of the reviews but, it does what it says on the tin and it was ok, light viewing but not that bad.

Shrooms (2007) - Horror, starring Jack Huston and Lindsey Haun.
'When five American college students arrive in Ireland to go on camping trip with their old college buddy Jake, they are in high spirits. Jake has promised them the 'trip' of a lifetime' because he claims Ireland has the best magic mushrooms in the world. It sounded like it would be great fun. There is something out there, something watching them, something that will kill them if they don't get out of the forest and get help.'

Average.

A Walk in the Woods.

Mildly funny adaptation of Goodison baiting travel writer's attempt to hike the Appalachian trail with his irascible mate. Struggled all the way through with this fella:

I mean, I'm all for suspension of disbelief like but 'kin 'ell. Nick Nolte was good in it.
