Yeah, I liked the showdown between Tom Hanks and the spook as well, that was Cohen-y. Mark Rylance was good, wanted to see more of him. Thing is, I looked into the story a bit after I watched it. I knew the Gary Powers stuff from school, but the story of Rudolf Able's time in the US leading up to his capture is much more interesting . That's the fillum I wanna see; Mark Rylance doing that story.Thoroughly underwhelmed by this film. Really average. Dialed in performances by all concerned, and the Coen influences just seemed completely out of place (the mildly amusing phone scene made me laugh, but it's meant to be a serious film, so I almost felt guilty for laughing).
The Guardian give it 5/5.
91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I must have watched a different film.
