Last Film You Watched

So.... The Deerhunter... I think I need to watch it again... A bit disjointed in a way but all relevant to the story.... De Niro is just De Niro... One of my fav actors ever....mandva quite young chris Walkmen too... Would watch again.

what made Captain Phillips unrealistic?
Apart from the deviations from the actual story (well documented by the real Captain Phillips, the movie deviated from what actually happened from the lifeboat scene)....it was more that Lone Survivor was about as accurate as a movie ever will be.

Now I wasn't there, but as I had to live at SDVT-1 while this was going down, based on the after-action reports and then the subsequent account from Marcus which was turned into the book Lone Survivor.....yeah, more realistic than Captain Phillips.

That part where they fell down the mountain? Really happened.
All of them suffering from multiple gunshot wounds? Yep.
The MH-47 that went down as it prepped for insertion?? Again, really happened.
Going into the village, then captured, then freed? True
The father walking to the base to tell them where Luttrell was? HAPPENED.

Like I said, about as accurate as a film can get. And they captured the ethos and camaraderie very well.

Eh, it wasn't a documentary. Nearly all films adjust the plot when it's meant to be based on true events.

Film day yesterday so I watched:

All 3 Naked gun films (The missus hadnt seen them, made her watch them back to back)
I know what you did last summer,
Dan in real life,
The woodsman
Punch drunk love.

All naked guns were boss (obviously), meh to the rest of them.

S3 E3 of the new Sherlock, that's movie length at least :P

Was good, but definitely not my favorite episode. Way too much of the SHOCK REVELATION, flash forward, flash back, flash forward stuff. Just ended up being jarring after a while.
