Last Film You Watched

caught 'Grosse Freiheit' (Great Freedom) last night and thought it was fantastic - a very moving story about a guy placed in a concentration camp for being a homosexual, and upon the camp's liberation, he was then placed in prison to finish his sentence.

The dual narrative flits between his stints in prison, during which time the plot focuses on the unlikely friendship he strikes up with his cellmate. Cinematographically one of the best films I've seen over the past year, up there with 'C'mon C'mon' and 'Drive My Car' (both of which I'd strongly recommend checking out if you're into arthouse cinema):

Finally got round to Spiderman - no way home yesterday.

I haven't really followed the chatter about this particular film but have seen all the other films in the main MCU.

I had no idea they were bringing 'others' into the mix. Enjoyable.

Going to watch Uncharted later. I'm 50 ffs.

Uncharted.

Budget Indiana Jones with less convincing baddies.

It felt a lot like a Disney movie.

Utterly ridiculous final act, but it's based on a video game so I wasn't expecting gritty realism.

I just took it as a bit of fun. As I said earlier in the thread it is not good but wasn’t expecting it to be so didn’t have a bad time watching it.

Strippers vs Werewolves

A 2011 film which legend has it raked in £38 at the box office... which is £38 too much.
Aside from the novelty of recognising most of the films strip locations, this movie has no redeeming quality even for its supposed tongue in cheek tone.

Nowhere near as good as, say Cockneys vs Zombies.

I wasn’t expecting much , but it fell short. Gutted.

1/10.

Was reading about it earlier Dave, a story loosely based on Kenneth Branagh’s childhood in Belfast and his family moving away.

Going by the trailer, I don’t fancy it myself which is a shame as Ciaran Hynds is in it and I do like his work.

I went to see it on opening Friday and it got a standing applause. Only film I’ve seen that got that.

I know it’s a topic close to your heart. Have you seen it yet?

No I haven’t seen it as yet and will probably wait until it’s on Sky. I have read loads about it and the consensus seems to be the young actor is the star of the show.

What did you think of it yourself?
