Last Film You Watched

Never seen this before... only just getting round to it. I like 70's cinema because movies back then had intelligent writing and they didn't hold the hand of the audience... everything seemed so much more cleverly set up and staged. You are forced to pay attention and pick up on the characters and plot so much more, and it's rewarding as a viewer to get the final payoff of a great film.

Dune (2021)

Have to say that I didn’t *love* it. As a stand-alone movie it smoulders whilst never managing to catch fire, clearly lacking any sort of closure on any of the main plot threads that need another movie to conclude. Also feels slow and lacking in sensible exposition.

A well made film but it’s not the masterpiece that many say it is.

8/10
