Then there is the Rabbits in Inland Empire...
Very true. However, the thing that freaked me out the most out of the countless disturbing things in Lynch's work was the bit late on in Inland Empire when
Laura Dern's face gets all distorted after her encounter with the Phantom in the hallway.
The whole film is very unsettling, but that moment really is the stuff of nightmares.

Not seen that yet. Mate of mine who's a big Lynch fan reckons it's heavy going even for him but I'll get round to it.
Just been watching Valkyrie, it's good but would of been so much better with German actors and subtitles in place of well know American actors and Eddie Izzard!
Worth watching if you dont read books as Claus von Stauffenberg is someone people should know about
Pleasantly surprised when I saw this and if I remember correctly it does start in German and then makes a very big acknowledgement that it's going into English for cinematic / storytelling purposes.

I know what he means, Lynch is one of my favourite directors but the only one I watch semi regularly is Blue Velvet. They are too stressful to know the right time.

Finally seen The Joker and really, enjoyed it. I didn't think it was a fantastic film, but i really enjoyed watching it and was completely engrossed the entire time. Haven't seen King of Comedy, but could totally see the Taxi Driver comparisons a mile away. Super performance but if possible, i'd have liked it to be even darker.

Joker reminded me a lot of The King Of Comedy, especially De Niro’s Rupert Pupkin-esque performance.

You should watch The King Of Comedy, it’s a classic...

Thanks for the recommendation. Agree completely with what you mention about von Stauffenberg. I used to live in Bamberg and the locals took great pride in his connection to the city.
