Large journeys

Helped a mate move from Bristol to Paris this weekend, a Luton van full of his and his family's belongings, 820 mile round journey in 2.5 days. Feeling completely goosed but also proud of us; but then I also considered I'm not ignorant to the fact that these measly stats most likely pale in comparison to journeys made by the GOT community and all of the carspeople of the world - especially those who live in the most remote reaches.

So, what's yer biggest and baddest drives?

Did Barcelona to Italy in one stint in a vehicle limited to 90kph and having to stop every 4 hours to refuel. Took 20 odd hours I seem to remember.

I could chip in here a little

I bought a 50cc moped, Yamaha neos 50, glorious metallic blue, off eBay for
250 notes, stuck some panniers on it, and rode it Athens in Greece. This following a discussion with a Yamaha mechanic in altrincham yammy shop, saying he hoped there was a van behind me picking up all the bits that were to drop off, saying it would get out the country.
Anyway, went for a moped race round silverstone, via the sand traps, met a nice mr mansell who thought we were mental. Went through the Black Forest’s, over the alps - the shop at the top met with a massive booming German and his wife for drinks, also met tapper Hedron drummer I think from the clash… and pootled the coastal roads or Croatia it was amazingly good!!

2,500 miles or so
