Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

Think Kone would be a great signing.

Another that needs to be done asap. Hopefully it will be with Moyes signing 2 guys there.

Would be against Jags leaving - it would be too much upheaval and although his days with us are numbered, we could still do with his stabilising influence having lost Stones.

Kone has gone back to Sunderland to say tara to his mates.

I'm thinking Jags has been told he wont captain anymore, he may want to follow Moyes up to the North East.

I hope we pay £25m cash for this one and it goes direct to Moyes' budget.

As well all know , he'll end up with better players on a tight budget than he will with a big budget. Give him £5m and he might sign a Baines, Arteta or Cahill. Give him £25m he'll sign Bilyaletidov for them.

It's not the same. We'd agreed a fee with Sunderland, he's been to FF to agree a no doubt eye watering deal but now he wants more

I don't know what the problem is, it's not as if we would have rung him and his agent and said "We'll give you £80k a week" they then said "Great we'll take it, and come and see you" then they have got to Liverpool and said "By the way, we want a £100k"

They would have come to Liverpool to discuss contract terms with us, we would have put our offer on the table in regards to wages, what we have offered, and what he wanted, was obviously way apart , we weren't prepared to pay what he wanted, so he got off.

Or, as @KUEFC09U2 said, he's gone back to Sunderland and said, this is what Everton have offered, can you better it.

My 'source' suggests that it's pretty much done but Moyes wants a replacement lined up before pressing the button.

Or we are still yet to agree a fee with Sunderland so his agent is putting the pressure back on to them as if to say you can't match what Everton have offered?

we've asked his agent to leak rumours to the press making it seem like other more nouveau-riche teams want him, as only then will our own petulant supporters want him.

it's the ol' Antoine-Augustin Parmentier potato trick:

"Thanks largely to Parmentier's efforts, the Paris Faculty of Medicine declared potatoes edible in 1772. Still, resistance continued, and Parmentier was prevented from using his test garden at the Invalides hospital, where he was pharmacist, by the religious community that owned the land, whose complaints resulted in the suppression of Parmentier's post at the Invalides.

Parmentier therefore began a series of publicity stunts for which he remains notable today, hosting dinners at which potato dishes featured prominently and guests included luminaries such as Benjamin Franklin and Antoine Lavoisier, giving bouquets of potato blossoms to the King and Queen, and surrounding his potato patch at Sablons with armed guards to suggest valuable goods — then instructing them to accept any and all bribes from civilians and withdrawing them at night so the greedy crowd could 'steal' the potatoes."

Post of the week that mate ;)

You could well be right Kev. I actually though we had agreed a fee with Sunderland, but turns out we haven't.

Supposedy he is happy at Sunderland, so as you say, maybe he is using us to get a better contract from them.

My new theory is that Moyes wants the negotiations of the deals supposed to be done today finished before so utd or relevant agents didn't feel they definitely had a good chunk of dough.
