Im going to be honest based purealy on when i have seen both play that i am a little more excited by Walker then Naughton.
I agree with that. From what I've seen he looks to give more going forwards in my completely uneducated opinion.

Latest reports are saying we could split the two Kyles with Spurs and we would get Naughton.

*thats every permiatation gone throgh then.
We'd probably end up with Kylie Minogue.
That would give us a boost on the old international profile front though.

That's based on one game though. The opposition won't have been able scout his weaknesses etc. because he had hardly played before.

Plus Walker was playing in his best position, while Naughton was playing out of position. To be honest, to be asked to play in a different position at the age of 20 in the biggest stage you've ever played in is a big responsibility to put on him, and he came through. Comparing Naughton out of position to Walker in his position is a bit unfair.

Finally, the biggest thing I want in a defender is consistancy. Attacking flair players can get away with blowing hot and cold, but if defenders are consistantly making errors you are going to lose a lot of goals. Walker has played excellently in for a few games, and nothing else. Naughton consistantly showed his quality throughout the season, hence he made the Championship team of the season. Walker hasn't shown that consistancy yet.

If Walker is the most promising of the two, why then loan him back to the Blades?

The blades, who had the championship version of our defense will lose 2 defenders and most probably a very naughty goal keeper.

Bit a nice gesture really.

Its called a sweetner. Whoever wants those players they'll pay a price they feel is a good one...then sweeten it by saying United can have one of the players back on loan for the season.

Sweeten the deal and give him more experience since he hasn't played much first team matches. Lending him back to them for a season will give him that experience while we can see if he is consistent or an up-and-down player.
