OK, thanks for that correction. My point still stands. We didn;t know that Sheff Utd would rat on us. How could we have tied this up quicker, espcially given that he would have had to come to us for a medical, even if not for negotiations, which I am to told was done.
Also, the spurs intervention came on the friday, the day after our bid was accepted and we were refused contact with the player who was out of the country if I am correct. How could we have moved it any quicker?
Answers on a very small postcard would be nice. The only reason why I am badgering you is that I hate supporters who make unsubstantiated claims which they can't back up.
Back up your claim or keep schtum. And yes, I apologise for being a bit internet hardmanish, goes against my nature.
What i am saying is that any transfer targets should be signed in principal at the earliest opportunity, ie shortly after or just before the season. Instead, we allow others to be informed of our activity. I honestly cannot give anybody any concrete facts but the same can be said to each and everyone of us, what i am certain of however is that we are completely useless in the transfer market.
Lordy has had me in stitches in this thread.
Naughton is 8/2 to join us. Worth a bet?

So either: his agent, acting more as his pimp, agreed terms with a club that his client told him that he didn't want to sign for, and the player (rather than simply inform the club that he didn't wish to sign for them) simply didn't turn up for his medical without warning.
or
Some bloke on a Sheff Utd forum made it up.
I know which one I think required the least assumptions.
You're not English mate?Nice one Dutch, us two can hold fort while they're gone![]()

Not going to beleive anything unless Naughton is holding a scarf over his head.
Its been us then them blah blah.
I will say this if he signs for Spurs, he may look at Chris Gunther (who was linked to us before Spurs) and behold his future, for all there hoarding and signing of young talent no one young player has really kicked on at Spurs have they.
Either way if he goes to Spurs he will end up rubbish, so we have nothing to worry about really! Everton make players, Spurs just sign them.
Think it would be safer to give him some rep. You could end up hugging a swine with kopite flu, for all you know.

Earliest opportunity OK, that't your view. Its not always possible though is it? Not sure how that would contribute to the success or not of a transfer. Everyone is seeking to find someone at the earliest opportunity.
We allow others? In the specific case of Naughton how could we have stopped the manager from telling the world they had agreed a fee with us. Until the other day, we said nothing.
Any concrete facts? And here is the rub. You have no facts to back up your argument, but you have an argument. Don't you think it more sensible to have facts based on real evidence rather than just opinions? Opinions are great, but if your gonna accuse an organisation of incompetence has you have throughout this thread, isn't it best to have facts rather than opinions?
