As for the rest of 2018, you've completely re-written history. He was absolutely fine in the first half of last season overall, with some very good performances in there. Overall, had a very good season.

Apart from the obvious sound bites from Lampard , I wonder what other benefits Zouma has been promised.

If he came here he would the mainstay centre back , cement his place in the France team & be part of a team that is (hopefully) pushing top 4 -6.

Thats not to mention he would be near enough doubling his wages.

you've got to think he's only starting most pre season games because of rudigers injury, zouma does not start over him when he's back

it's just depends of lampard see's as the second CB from zoum, luiz., Christensen and tomori

wouldn't bank on zouma playing everyweek like he would at us, depends If he's wise enough to see that

We finished 8th in 17/18 with one of the worst squads/managers in the league. We’re not finishing bottom half.

Silva wanted him badly it seems and he was a “priority”. He’s spoken of other options incase a deal can’t be done, but I wonder whether he’ll look for a loan to cover and then see what the situation is in January or next summer.

Yeah, I think this would be wise. A loan, just like Zouma last summer and then see where his head is at in January. If he's not getting much game time he may want to move here then and we can strike a deal or we can look at alternatives. We'll have alternatives this summer now anyway, but they'll know they weren't no. 1 target, no idea if that affects footballers these days.


Then there's also Mangala on a free if we want to plug a gap ha, seriously he is the right type of defender we need, just not good enough, but who knows, chuck him a one year deal with the possibility of an extension.

IMO that's pretty close to what would be their first team this season, be between giroud/Abraham for me upfront because thinking lampard will give the young English lads a go whilst they're under a ban. and that mount will play a fair bit
