Kone

Still unfair to judge him given his very limited amount of playing time, but what would redeem Kone in the eyes of people at the seasons end? I dont think Martinez will play Lukaku and Kone together too often, so if Lukaku stays fit I'd be looking for 7 or 8 off the bench between now and the end of the season to feel he's a worthwhile purchase.

be very interested to see that, big forward occupying centre halfs and a quick one buzzing about...bit old fashioned i guess, also hasnt really been the opportunity/need i guess

Who do we drop?

Mirallas, Barkley, McCarthy, Pienaar or Barry?

With only having two trusted central defenders it seems it's either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1.

Who'd you drop for Kone from those five?

I think any of those five is massively more effective than Kone, so he can do one.

Nah he's shocking he's like Auschwitz on legs.

Kone is worst than Brett Angell. I'm absolutely furious at this obscene waste and shall be voicing my extreme frustrations not only at the next match but - and I do feel sadly compelled to do this - through picketing each and every shareholders meeting until he is sold. I feel like Kenwright played poker with the very soul of this club by sanctioning such a ridiculous purchase.
Disaster is round the corner.

If I can alert just one person to the danger Kone poses to the future of this club I'll consider my mission a sucess. KONE 2013

SACK THE BOARD

Finally some sensible opinions.

Martinez at Wigan played him with Di Santo in certain games I suppose.

stop beating about the bush. Do you support his purchase or not?

my tea leaves (from Ceylon) tell me Kone will be a good addition to the squad...mind you, they're fairly old tea leaves. I now use tea bags from Sri Lanka.

Obviously Kone won't get a look in this season, but what worries me is that when Lukaku goes at the end of the season, Kone will be either first choice or regular sub striker.
This would leave us in a much weaker position than we are now, so I think Martinez needs to buy a quality striker in January.

I think we can be assured RM is casting his net for next season but doubt whether he will buy a striker in January

Unless "boss" is Ukrainian for dogturd or something, you're wrong mate. (y)

May the vaults be with you mate.

Seriously did people not watch him play last season - hes a very good player.

Hes played 82 mins of football for us and people are binning him.

I remember people wanting Baines sold because he couldnt get in the team with Lescott and would never be a defender, i remember a certain few using the phrase dustbin, lad needs time.
