I'll probably get shot down for this, I know he missed a sitter yesterday, but I thought his overall contribution to the team in the 25 minutes he played was far more effective than Lukakus 65 minutes. Hull had done their homework on Lukaku very well, Kone gave them more problems with his extra pace late in the game. It's too soon to write him off, he may turn out to be badly Henderson but we need to see if a goal or two will help settle him in. Lukaku taking Goodison by storm has heaped extra pressure on his shoulders. If he spends the entire season failing to deliver, that's the time to judge, not now.

To be fair, Fellaini and Baines had time on their side. Kone is what, 30? I think. Thereabouts.

We can't be waiting a season for a 30 year old to come good.

As long as Lukaku stays healthy we got a season, he just has to bang in some late goals and if he plays like he did on Sat I think he could do. And if it doesn't work you can always flog off strikers for decent money even if they are up there in age. Vic was buried so far on the bench by Bob that it was obvious that he probably was going to sell him and we still got good deal for him.
