I really don't like when players who clearly support other clubs kiss the badge. But Neville, when he came off, went pass the fans, who were quite rightly chanting his name.

He gently, kissed the badge. I know that he supports the Mancs, and bury, where his dad works, but given its significance I think it was done as an appreciation of the fans thinking of him as "one of us".

He didn't have to do it, but I suspect that blue blood now runs through his veins, and he will be as proud as anyone when he lifts the FA Cup next weekend as our Captain.

My appreciations Neville.

There's no doubting he loves the club, that's been clear from day one. I've never questioned his commitment to the cause.

His consistency hasn’t always there in the past though, he wasn't playing like a captain should and it was frustrating in my opinion. This season he's been fantastic, really superb.

Fair play to him for turning it around, I’m really happy that he’s our captain.

Yeah nice touch and he got an even bigger cheer when he did it. No matter what we think of his footballing talent he definitely knows how it feels to be 'one of us'! :)

I always think when I see Cahill do it that he's one who earns the right to, you can tell how he feels about the club is genuine.

I'd say the same about Neville aswell.

But Fella? Jog on mate. That seems a bit in the AJ vein. (though i dont doubt that some day he may be in the position that it seems sincere)

Just got back now absolutely hammered . Didnt see Neville kiss the badge must have been in the bog . What about Osman though I may have to have a radical re-think about him

Osman is almost always good against teams that aren't as good as us. Like I said before that makes him extremely useful. We can't ever get 4th unless we get 3pts off the teams we should.

Well god damm . Welcome to the family Phil . I always knew that Everton magic would get you eventually (y)

In fairness to Neville, it works both ways. He's been here what, 4 years now? And as recently as 9 months ago, he was disliked by a large proportion of the support (and probably hated by a decent sized minority). Now, after 4 years at the club, the vast majority of the fans are behind him.

He probably feels vindicated to some extent, and rightly proud of himself, that he's finally been accepted by the fans.

Good on yer Pip!
Sometimes the guy can't do right for doing wrong. He's a model pro and a great captain. He gets better every game and I can't wait to see him lift the Cup, he's said that it would be his greatest achievement - and this is coming from a bloke that certainly has got a cabinet full of medals. He didnt actually have to say that so hats off to the man.
He's the first to applaud the fans, last man off the pitch and always looks like he's giving his all. He may not be the most skillful but he's got the Blue heart of a lion. Him, Jags and Timmy are fighters who never give in and they are the heartbeat of this great team.

I'll admit that sometimes in the past I've wanted to strangle him for some of the awful games he's had but this season he's just been an inspiration.

i cant stand seeing players kiss the badge just to get on the fans good side.... but the like of timmy and pip you can see the club has a special place in there hearts...

"Phil Neville, superstar, he's more Everton than Steve Gerrard". I think if someone has that as your song, I'd feel that I am "in the circle" and I think he'd be genuinely pleased to lift the cup on Saturday. I am just so pleased for him.

As for Mofro kissing the badge, good player, but a bit too early in his Everton career for him to be doing that, given the potency that badge kissing has.

This game to me was special . I was sat right behind this wonderful goal when it sailed in . To say I lost it would the biggest understatement of alltime . But I also remember seeing Phil on the pitch at the end fist clenched saluting the Park End . I remember thinking then that he looked every inch the Evetonian . I think that that night really did something to his heart .
