Player Valuation: £10m
Right, I admit it (and most of you have probably worked it out by now any way). I am not the most educated fella in the world. In view of that, and save myself continually trying to make some sort of sense out of this, can someone summarise that the state of play is. I know the project has been called in but has that put a severe dent into the plans to build a new stadium and when will a decision ACTUALLY be made?

Exact date is unknown, as far as I am aware.

As for severity, a lack of alternatives makes me assume the call-in mainly just added cost to the development, rumoured to be at least £15m, couldnt say how true this is though.

I believe something is expected in December, but i think it will get put back to sometime in the spring, but i dnt honestly dont know, i just recall reading something.

tesco announced profits up by 10% today. pre tax profit figure of 1.5 billion pounds taken in the 6 months up to august.

not bad from the biggest independent employer in britain.

Although they have stated that it will be resolved as soon as possible this really is a how long is a piece of string(y)

Thats just about it coyney. It'll bung the cost up too and I still dont hear Warren useless Bradley screaming from the rooftops to keep us in Liverpool. If it was that lot over the park it would be a whole different story. :@

The Inspector's last word on the subject was that evidence submission will extend into early 2009. Then she and her team compile all the evidence, break it down into findings on individual aspects of the development (transportation; funding etc etc); they then present that plus their recommendation to the Secretary of State (Blears at the moment). That process can take as long as you want, depending on the complexity of the application. Mid-summer 2009 is the nearest hoped for conclusion to that process.

Remember though, that even on that optimistic timescale the council, in the event the application gets passed by the Government, will then have to apply for CPO's on housing affected by the development. That can (and as I understand, will) be challenged by residents, which could drag on and prevent a spade going into the ground for another two years (for example, LCC has just today been given the thumbs up for the second challenge by residents against CPO's on the Edge Lane 'Gateway' project...two years after it getting the nod initially).

Pull up a chair and take the weight off your feet.
