Can we just accept that his struggles in the 2nd half of the season were due to a change in management (a manager who also didn’t favor Dowell btw). Idk people are bashing him for the sake of bashing him. He would have been fine had the manager stayed and Forest started to plummet even further once he left. No coincidence

I take it like at u23 where he starts off with something to prove, but when the pressure of him being the “number one” guy hits home he shrinks and shrivels.

I don’t think anyone doubts his skill, but mental strength is the second most important attribute to a players a game. And now a 3rd manager has questioned this.

At his age now he should be very close, if not regularly starting, in the first team and he’s not. If he doesn’t address it, his career will be a talented player in the lower leagues

Not exactly the same,but the year the u23s won’t be league he finished strong scoring some great goals and not hiding away. I think it was more Karanka and his negative football, shifting Dowell to the wing interrupting Dowells season rather than Dowell the just losing interest.

He is the player that can receive the ball and quickly thread it through with one pass or flick of a boot, very rare for a English player.

Slowly bring him into a pivotal role in the first team and I think he can be a key player for us
