Ahead of who? This was the argument for Lookman too btw. He’s not a better option than Walcott, Richarlison, Siggy, Bernard, or Mola though Mola seems to be off. Maybe he’s not as great as you think he is against better comp. We saw the same with Kenny last year. Fine player, but wasn’t ready to nail down a spot.

Considering he plays on the right quite often at both club and youth international level, what would you class him as? If you say attacking mid, fine. So is Siggy and by all accounts Bernard may play there as well. So...what’s your point?

My point was he wouldn’t be competing with Lookman, Richarlison or Walcott. If he gets into the team I think it’ll be as a CM or AM.

Theoretically you could play he and Siggy together with one holding mid and flip the triangle in the middle. Against inferior teams that defend deep and we need to break down.
