Kids kits at GP

Dell Boy

Player Valuation: £35m
Went to the game yesterday with my two girls. Eldest got her kit a fortnight ago and wanted to now treat the youngest. She's 4, nearly 5 and average size etc.

Went into the shop at the ground at about 12.30pm. It was reasonably busy but nothing you would call overwhelming. Looked all around for a home kit for her and couldn't find a thing. A few kits were there but a bit too big, but I'd have gone with them had it not been for 'Kone' printed on the back of all of them.

Overall the choice was just terrible. Of the 40 kits there maybe 35 were one size and 5 were another.

Anyway, went to try and speak to one of the staff about sizes and was told she was too busy on matchday to deal with anything like ordering etc. I said I only want her to check if there were any other sizes in stock but no she blanked me. Found another girl who basically pointed to the Kone kit and said directly to my little girl - "go on that would be lovely wouldn't it".

So I gave up, picked her an Everton teddy and will resolve now to try and buy something off the internet for her but boy was it poor service yesterday.

...we seem so good at community/fan relations things but awful at the money making side of the business. If folk want to spend money, the club should be biting their hands off. Crazy.

Can't get the adult kits in women's fit at all now either. That's £50/season they're losing from me (men's fit of any size just swamps me)

The club shop isn't big enough. They don't carry enough stock Dell. Because its not big enough.

So you were never going to be satisfied yesterday. Especially on match day.

I picked up a kit for my 4 year old boy yesterday, full kit, no name, i went after the game though so maybe they re-stocked the shelves.

I thought the layout of the store could have been better. i.e. all the kids stuff, kits teddies in the same area.

That "go on that would be lovely wouldn't it" line shouldnt of been used to a child, its the kind of thing a car salesmen would use, shouldnt be trying to influcnce children like that

What they need is a new superstore where the Dixie statue used to be ?

They do not appear too great at the Commecial side of things for sure.

Maybe so but that's very poor customer service and in a lot of cases, is why people just walk out. Yes the die hard fans who know better, well it won't affect them at all but others it might.

They've often gone in the back to find stuff for me tbh.

Lad wants the Yellow Away for his B'day but tbh if they aint reducing it then he's no chance, I aint paying £70 with about 2 occasions that they'll wear it left this season.

Yeah I tried for ages to get my girlfriend the woman's top this season but then was told it wasn't happening.

A few years ago I tried frantically to get my American friend the "Howard" goal keepers top (the camouflage one). It was sold out and I tried for 3 months to get one for him coming over to his first match. Even emailing the shop and Everton direct, but to no avail.

I honestly despair at this sort of thing. If demand is there, a business (and that's what clubs are these days) should try to meet it. The club are missing out on revenue due to this situation and the kitbag deal. The sooner the contract expires and the club reclaims the marketing responsibility for merchandise the better.

Hopefully with the massive improvements off the field in other areas, the club will push to improve this aspect.

You have to think they know it... They fixed the shabby match day issue - though the food and drink still sucks - but perhaps in the close season they'll have a sit down with people who know what they're doing about making money... International business, club shop, merchandise selection, food and drink all can put cash in the bank..

Really? What size mate? I was in that little corner near the shop window and service counter. I was after a 'Medium' but the only one there bizarrely had a "Liam" printed on it!
