Player Valuation: £15m
Has anyone ever noticed that whenever its our chance to kick off, we pass it back to one of the defenders and they LOB it far when they receive it. EVERY SINGLE GAME THIS HAPPENS. I've seriously been taking note of this since the start of the season and I think its ridiculous, its an instantaneous loss of possession, why the hell cant we just do something different when we kick off, JUST ONCE.

ive noticed that 2, neville comes to mind just has a quick look up bit of a dribble then hooof, should just let em have the kick 4 both halves.wasted oportunity lost count of number of goals scored from kick off when the opporsition r not quite fully focused on the game..

Not only Neville, any play that receives it. They should pass to Fernandes, I noticed last night how he tries so hard not to play a long ball, he'll move around until he finds someone he can pass to

I have.

It standard operating procedure from the Moyes Tactical Playbook.

I'm surprised that opposing forwards even bother closing down knowing it's gonna get bombed over their heads.

Moyes believes that long balls will be headed on perfectly by our forwards, when in truth it's an inaccurate gamble.

It's quite intolerable and mind numbing to watch.

And there is no defending it, as if Moyes told the players to never Hoof, we wouldn't be seeing it.

I thought this was a retro themed thread with pics of Elton Welsby and Gerald Sindstadt. Fuming here.

That was done 30 years ago so it allowed your forward line to move up, so when you just hoof the ball up field your in posistion to attack good thing Moyes has a nack for nostalgia.

We used to have kick off and belt it for Kanchelskis to chase. We scored one of the first times we tried it. Then teams got wise to it, but we still did it and never scored again from the tactic. Good times.

It's Moyes playing percentages - if you smash it into the final 15-20% of the field, then even if you lose an aerial battle for the ball the ball is still in the opposition half.

However, that logic really should only apply to rugby, not football. The term "build from the back" has no place in Moyes' dictionary.

Annoys me no end.

I'm sure this has come up before, We've been doing it for a decade. We did try to pass it from the kick off I think in '04-5 when Carsley and Grav was in the side, but now it's back to Jags for the punt, and we lose it EVERY time.

We've done it since Gary Stevens, doesn't matter who is in the position to hoof it or if they can.

I'd have wingers on the blocks, 3 doin' the kick off, knock it back to a decent passer on the edge of the Circle and rush the feckers, just run straight past 'em, nice flighted pass into the path of one of the 5 and BOOM !!

Taylor made for Landon's re-debut .
