Righto, so i just gotta revive this and ask - what has Kevin Mirallas done wrong?

We all have developed a sort of love-hate relationship with this guy, and every manager he's been through has the same.

Question is though, while he surely can be counted on as one of the longest serving key players in the squad, why isn't he shouldering more of the responsibility?

Conversely, I'd think he would actually be able to do a job up front in front of Rooney. He's a good finisher, after all.

Must be sat there watching the complete lack of pace in the team and lack of goal threat and wondering what's going on. Yes he is a mardy arse but he is a threat running with the ball. We are in desperate need of pace and need at least one of Bolasie (when fit) mirallas or lookman playing to help us stretch teams.

I doubt he is watching thinking that. Well he might be I guess.

But then he gets his chance and flatters to deceive. Again.

Flatters to deceive describes him well, amount of times he's done that mazy running lateral with the ball and completely ignoring any movement ahead - especially overlaps from Baines drives me nuts.

Always wanted Kev to do well, but hard to draw any conclusion other than he's a weak-minded Ted.

Three managers on the spin seem to have under-utilised him, from a fan POV, so it has to be down to stuff like not doing what he's told on the pitch, not training well, underwhelming attitude - prob a combination of stuff like this. The fact he's still here isn't a great sign, either, as a proper player with something to prove wouldn't wear the constant bench-warming.

That being said there was nothing weak-minded about his challenge on Suarez up there. Just a beautiful moment, like a rennaissance painting.

The Secret Diary of Kev 29 and 3/4+

Saturday 23rd September 2017

Slept in.. messaged my mates Marouane and Romelu.. they said they were on their way to Southampton and would let me know how their day was going. Tried calling Roberto - went straight to answerphone, strange! Perhaps he was on a flight somewhere.

Sat by phone till 11.30 Ronny didn't call. Decided to walk the dogs round to Phil's as he said he had nothing to do today either... played FIFA18 - we (Belgium) beat Phil's England 3-0 but then he did play Jones and Smalling at the back - I got 2 and Romelu popped up with his obligatory, unimportant, goal.. (ha, ha - those were the days eh Rom!).. got sent off for petulant foul on Henderson..
