Kev has looked 10x the player when played centrally.

I think his mindset has completely changed after those injuries. He is looking to score and create rather than beat players with pace like he used to. His movement was the main thing I noticed when he was on the pitch, and it is something Barkley desperately needs to add to his game.

Kev out wide is atrocious now. He's totally lost his pace as you say.

His best moments for us this season (not that there has been many) have come when he's moved into central positions and linked the play.

As you rightly say, his movement in that role is excellent. His end-product, not so much.

his best performance ( 2nd half that is ) was the best he's played for a very long time. Shame he didn't slot that great chance away.

He cannot be dropped with the way Barkley has been under-performing. I wish Koeman had been fortunate enough to bring in a Mata because I think Kev would be a great backup in the CAM postion. I think Barkley needs to be developed in the holding role because he struggles to play unless the field is in front of him.

the best thing Kev could have done today was that 2nd half performance. As far as I'm concerned that's earned him another game next week. Best thing for Ross is to sit on that bench until it hurts that much he isn't getting picked that when he does get a chance he takes it.
