Kevin Mirallas

Martinez had clearly prevent over-using him in this few weeks, resting him in some matches, as he said Mirallas has already got more game time than last season a few weeks ago. So disappointed to see it didn't come off.

Oh well, it's a blow but it's not the end of the world. Long gone are the days when if a wide player was injured Tim Cahill would move out wide to replace him (dark, dark days) - With Deulofeu and McGeady we've got two players who can do a good enough job.
I remember when Phil Neville was playing wide left once.

Ace times.

The fact that we have 2 quality players to slot in seamlessly makes me happy.

BTW, what happened to Kone? thought he was back before the end of the season...he is alive still...right?

Geads and Del to start against Saints, with Nais behind Rom. Barkley and Osman on bench. However, I think Osman will start

A real shame, he was fantastic against both Arsenal and United, he always shows up for big games and would have been crucial against Manchester City (especially with Barry out and Barkley forced to play deeper).

As others have said though, we have depth to deal with this. I hope Deulofeu watched him carefully, Mirallas showed what a pacey and talented dribbler can do if he's willing to pass to teammates and track back in defense against United and Arsenal.

anyone reckon pienaars injury is just a cover story with him wanting to go back to S. Africa? just cant see how a slight knock could keep him out for weeks with no mention of him from martinez

Huge miss, our best winger IMO. We've got good cover in Gerard and McGeady, Osman can do a job if needed too...

Oviedo any where near fit yet?
