From reading this it seems like people are looking for an immediate answer to what is going on, when it's not going to happen. From what I can gather, he wants to come to the Premiership and will be happy to play for us or Arsenal, but favours us as he will be in the team more. What is everyone getting so bothered about? From the little bit I have seen of him and read he looks like he would fit in well to our team but i'm sure Moyes has back-up options.

Another thing I find encouraging is that he is considering us even though Arsenal are in for him. Putting aside our feelings for our own club, apart from more chance of starting, Arsenal is a more exciting proposition for him and Arsenal are a way bigger club than us. Yet he has even commented saying we are both big clubs. If you think about it from a neutral perspective he will have grown up seeing Arsenal on TV, winning titles, competing in a European Cup Final and having players like Henry, Vieira and Bergkamp. Currently they are in the CL and play in a 60,000 seater stadium so I don't think it's outrageous that he isn't ruling them out. Compare that to what he will have seen of us growing up.

I personally think it's too early to say whether he will come but it looks promising. It's also positive that he is good mates with Fellaini. I haven't seen him comment about Vermaelen so it seems as if a move to us would suit him better. He will get first team football, play in front of a passionate crowd etc and play alongside one of his mates.

To pass the time in these next few 'crucial hours', can we name our fave people called Kevin?

Here are two of mine:

why can we never make a quick no hasstle signing ?

Well a fair chunk of the forum is probably still unaware that we signed Ben Mclaughlin. Mind you the official site appears to be unaware as well, so I suppose that balances out.

BUT will he be sat on the bench week in, week out doing sweet FA?

The lad wants to play.

And if we pull our socks up, we will be playing CL football next year. Pipe dream, I know, but a distinct possibility.

Who needs Kevin when you've got Ben...

ENGLISH Premiership giants Everton have added to their Irish conncection at the club.

With Derry duo Darron Gibson and Shane Duffy, along with Killybegs man Seamus Coleman already at Goodison Park, the Toffee men have added Ben McLaughlin from Dundalk.

The 17-year-old, who is the grandson of former Derry City treble winning boss Jim, was a regular in the first-team at Oriel Park this campaign but now joins the Merseyside men.

The initial fee involved is believed to be nominal with the League of Ireland club hoping to earn significant add-ons if the hard-working young defender goes on to play regularly for David Moyes’ side.

McLaughlin who helped the Lilywhites to an impressive 2-1 win at the Brandywell earlier in the season and he also did well against his namesake Stephen when Derry drew 1-1 at Oriel Park last month.

In all seriousness, he will goto whatever club gives him the best deal.

As for Arsenal, I think Kevin and his agent are using them to beat us with a stick with regards to negotiations. And, who could blame them. We have to look after number 1.

I would do the same as well.
