I feel like Im missing something here. We have a contract with him which he gets regardless of where he plays, it's just asking the other club to subsidize the wages by X%, no? So why would he "refuse" to lower his wages?
Cos we want to sell him, not loan.

I don’t blame him, or any other player who refuses to agree to lower wages, especially towards the end of the career. Most of the players barely have a secondary education, and this is the last guaranteed paycheck of their life. They are trained to do one thing in life, and they have a very finite income stream.
It’s up to the club to find a way to shift him out, without him losing a portion of his last paychecks. Very few of us would agree to that if we were in his shoes.
Doesn’t mean I want him here, I just understand why he refuses to take less.
