Yes, his form at that time certainly deserved a starting spot. He started the season brilliantly until he got injured. Doubt he'll be preferred over Doyle unless he re-discovers that form before the end of the season.
 

Agreed, but Doyle hasn't really been playing well for a couple of years, I think Johhny Giles said something to the extent of when a player thinks they have 'made it' they sometimes lose the edge or just don't go that extra yard, he wasn't talking about Doyle but I would apply it in this case, thats why I think a change could just be what he needs to get his form back and we could do a lot worse than him.

How about putting Tony Hibbert upfront? got to be worth a shout he always give 100% and his current goalscoring record is only just behind Saha

Not what we need. He is nt any better than what we have at the moment and would probs be pricing - they paid 7m for him plus mick mcarthy is an idiot and probs thinks he is still worth that value - so would say no to this one. Is no better then Vellios/Straq
