Absolutely devastated at this news, he was the hero we all needed at another dark period in our history and genuinely loved the club RIP Super Kev who could score in a scramble

Just in my Everton group chat alone there are a couple of photos and accompanying stories about his friendliness and joy when talking to blues .

Devastating news. True gent of the game. One of my best memories watching Everton was being lifted up on my late dad's shoulders as he ran round the living room after Kev slotted at Anfield in 99. RIP and thanks for the memories Kev.

May God rest his soul. How lucky we were to have him join us....and give us so much. We were blessed with an instant hero....and one who simply "got" our club. Even years later, he was still a true Evertonian and one who made that clear especially in the media - where most were revelling in ridiculing and criticising us. With sincere sympathy to his family and friends.

….my son has just called in to try and find one of him as a kid with Kevin Campbell, Mrs Eggs upstairs now also looking through old albums. We found an Everton cushion signed by the man himself, apparently my mother-in-law took it to Bellefield and ‘Norman the Doorman’ said ‘Kevin will sign it’.

You'd think he was a Scouser from how sound he was. A true gem, who was always on the fans side and didn't shy publicly from his affinity with us

Mostly though, a gent and a pleasure to be around.
