I'm not saying Honda won't choose AC Milan over Everton. More than likely he will. But this whole bit about it being his "boyhood club" or him being a "lifelong fan" is a load of tosh.

I distinctly remember Falcao and his father saying "ever since he was a boy he has loved Chelsea" and that he "dreams of playing for Real Madrid". All nothing but a bunch of rubbish. Turns out he was really a fan of Monaco! didn't ya know?

Fact of the matter is, when a major footballer comes out and says "I've always wanted to play at such-and-such club!" it's really code for "I've always wanted to play at this club because they are offering me the most bloody money!". In the modern game, footballers are mercenaries and money talks.
