Anyone have relatives who are young enough to want the junior kits? Well there is no sponsor and it looks pretty poor.

I put a question to Gary Wilton at Everton FC, I presume he is in charge of the merchandising and replica sales. Well my question was this:

basically I was wondering why the junior shirts have no sponsor on them. Is it because of a political reason by the club or financial?

I put that email on the 1st August, well after 21 days I have finally got a response. Here it is:

Neither!

Hmm, what to make of that? More poor customer relations by the club? Aggressive customer relations not to different to our own Mr Ian Ross? It may only be a minor detail, but having heard many problems around this club, its just the tip of the ice berg. This club is in the [Poor language removed], and its being run into the ground by people who having a clue what they are doing.

They are treating the fans like crap.

Where do I sign up for a protest???

Once again, why would the club respond given half the [Poor language removed] on here? There's no inkling of working with the club to improve things, all I read is attack after attack after attack. [Poor language removed] sake some people on here hate the club more than Liverpool fans.

Have you thought that since you published the private conversation with Ian Ross that staff at the club have been told not to disclose things to you?

Oh thats alright then, they can treat us like [Poor language removed] cos we are getting pissed off. They can continue to totally cock our season up cos we wasnt nice, honestly some of you wanna wake up and smell the coffee. Lemme spell it out for you.

WE ARE [Poor language removed].

Its dropped because its a beer sponsor and therefore would make the junior blues a bunch of drunken louts.

I couldn't give a flying [Poor language removed]. I'm a customer, and the customer is always right.

Halewood blue is right.

The british government in conjunction with the EU want to limit advertising of tobacco and alochol to minors. Therefore the clubs removed their sponsors of that sort to show they don't engourage drinking etc.. and to stick on the correct morale path.

So why couldn't the club respond like that then?

Oh i wasnt defending that chap. I was just giving you the official reason. Doing his job if you like :D

To give you a response like that is just not called for.

He seems like a right prick. Your right they should not get away with treating fans like that when asked a valid question which could affect their business.

Say you had 10 children and didn't like his response. Well he has just lost 10 sales. What a muppet.

it is an eu legal type thingy, i have said before about what barcelona do and as we cant make them identical cos of the sponsor we should do the same.
they basically have their own brand/label and they produce kits like the nike(at the moment), they do these with and without a sponsor on and cheaper than the nike. the home very often is the same so no need for "every year a new one" the income lost by not selling 1 every year is probably matched by not giving anything to nike, and they are cheaper.
kids kits are usually worn to death though so probably work out better value than adults in some ways, compared to other kids clothes though they are dear as feck.
i reckon the training stuff is better value as is in some ways 'dateless'.

It's the tone you take though Nick. Halewood Blue has given a perfectly reasonable explanation for why the junior kits don't have the Chang logo on them but instead of suspecting that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation you assume the worst of the club.

Put yourself in their shoes. If anyone, be it me, you or someone at the club, is attacked then the standard response is to defend yourself. I'm sure that you have the clubs interests at heart but your approach seems likely to put peoples back up. Have a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getting_to_YES

Some good lessons there for us all I think.
