Judge Us After 10 Games

I personally wouldn't want Cahill back. Some of you are talking about him like the Cahill of 7 years ago, I'm afraid he was nothing but awful for his final 3 years with us. Why do we want him back? I'd like him to come back not to play but to get a proper send off but that's about it.

All I know about vadis is that the people who do know him rate him (kompany thinks he's boss, Moyes and Jol both wanted him, he's highly rated by the belgian press etc). That's good enough for me.

Until I watch one of his games myself, I'm willing to trust the judgement of those who have.

If we keep up this pace we are on for 70 points.

If anything comes of this season, we have a nightmare run in. 2 of our last 3 games are away to Liverpool and Chelsea.

win at anfield to put them ****es in the bottom 3 and the league decider at the bridge only need a draw for the title and get it thanks to a tony hibbert special free kick!!!!

Also doesnt cahill still have a large ban from the FA to serve if he does come back? Meaning a stay would be completely useless

Think they are right though 10 games seems a sensible milestone to judge by. Still think the derby will be a big game, first decent opposition really since newcastle, if we can beat them the confidence in the squad would be unreal.[/QUOTE]
I'm more concerned about the way we play against the rs than the result itself. Well obviously I want us to stuff them but if we go down having a go, I'll be conviced that the mindset had changed. The problem could be a confidence one if we lose though. As you say it would work wonders for the lads if we beat them.

I'd not be too upset if he came in on loan. It'd bolster the squad and he could provide useful coming off the bench, providing a bit of a nuisance factor and he'd be a good presence in the dressing room. My only worry would be that he'd get more than his warranted share of game time out of Moyes feeling he owes him rather than making such calls based purely on what's best for the team.

That said, I'd be more excited at the prospect of bringing someone in on loan who we're looking to sign long-term if they impress.

To be honest, if we beat Wigan convincingly then I'll start to believe there's been a mindset shift at Everton. Because I firmly believe we'll roll over against Wigan like we did against West Brom.

The derby isn't even a consideration as we'll lose that no matter what, so I'm not going to judge after a pre-set amount of games, I'm going to judge us on a week by week basis. The season doesn't end after 10 games.

I'm not sure about that. Wigan are an ideal team for us to play, very similar to Swansea. West Brom just played to stifle us. The only reason we drew at Wigan last season was because the pitch was awful and so was the weather but it should be different this time around. I think we will be fine, even Gibson might be back.

Are you arguing that adding Vadis, Donovon and Cahill wouldn't add anything to our squad?

*Edit* I'm not contesting the actuality of these signings happening

Honestly with the players that we have brought in, i don't see what Cahill could possibly add to our squad now. The football currently being played now just doesn't suit his style of play and would be a waste of a shirt.

He was great for us when he was here, great times, loved the guy but we have moved on and should keep on moving.

Moyes has no sentiment when it comes to picking his team or even squad. If they can't bring something to the table they won't be wearing the shirt. Simple as.

I'll judge after the transfer window. If there is a monied club well behind us come January then its tap-up city.

noticed theres been no phil neville rally calls as yet
'our season starts now' n october/november/december/january/febuary (delete as applicable) have dried up.

maybe he has realised what a idiot he looks in the press when the season actually starts in august.
