A few notes on JP lids, he is a shrewd but decent man, hard as nails in buissness and doesnt suffer fools easiliy - has mundo connections in the world of finance, politics and sport.

He has a long history with funding, assisting and supporting sport, obviously its well known he is one of the premium horse owners/trainers in the world:

He held shares in Utd and held the balance of power there for a while.

Its well known this side of the water that he funds half of the Traps salary for the Irish Football team.

He provided huge sums for for the rebuild of Munsters new Rugby ground Thomand Park in Limerick from this:

Jeezuz thats impressive.

Now I'm not taking all the credit but JP is a neighbour of mine, and I was talking to this bloke in a bar................

Actually this would be brilliant news if true.

Mickey Quinn, heart on his sleeve type of guy, but has so little grasp of the realities of football and life to be a serious presenter.

So, i've just wasted twenty minutes of my life reading through this thread, getting increasingly excited that there was finally going to be a takeover, only to find that Quinn, as most of you predicted, had nothing to offer. What a tw*t. That's commercial radio for you, i guess, but in my case it's turned me even more against the station than i already was.

Still, there may be some mileage in the McManus rumour. If the Board really have withdrawn money from the Club that's even more reason to hound them out. It may be, however, that they have done this because they themselves are pre-empting some takeover. Let's hope it happens soon, before the January transfer window. The worst case scenario is that they've attempted to balance the books simply to avoid a showdown with the bank so that they can retain control of the Club.
