Jose Mourinho is boss

Poch is a shoeing for the job lad, transfer budget and wages are big factors.

I hope he doesn't like, not nice when you have a good manager poached but he must be their number 1 target.

If Zidane isn't their number one target then they have literally no idea of what they are doing.

The job he did at Real should be obvious already given that they won the CL three times in a row (and last season came up with the most tactically spot on performance in a CL final for years), won the league in more difficult circumstances than his predecessors did and have gone to utter rubbish since he left, but its only when you realise he did it with the squad he found there, promoted youth and made more money than he spent by getting rid of the dross do you recognize that it is the best managerial achievement of the century so far (including Ranieri at Leicester, Simeone at Atletico and Rehhagel at Greece).

If he went there they'd be back on their perch within 18 months.

All part of the modern game sadly. If the useless parasites on the pitch decide to not give 100% then you've got no chance. Horrible team that Man Utd side. Whoever takes over will also face the same problems with that gang of posers. Mourinho will do far better then Man Utd will out of this, golden handshake, nice and easy few mouths out then start again in the summer. We won't be seeing Man Utd win any league titles again for a very long time, they are a horrendously run football club with an obscene level of entitlement.

It shows that they consider the season a write off and will take their time to make sure they get the right man in. They knew the situation was getting out o control and he had the potential to have them even finishing in the bottom half, so might as well bite the bullet and get him gone now so they can at least finish in a respectable position. They probably aren't arsed about finishing in Europa League position, which is great news for us. That door is wide open now.

Expecting Zidane on a five-year deal announced before end of season.

First thing he needs to do is punt Pogba and Lukaku out. Luckily they will still have takers for big-money deals. Then he needs to charm De Gea into pledging his future to United, and then clear out the deadwood amongst their ranks.

Zidane would flop bigtime IMO, jury is well out on him as a manager if you ask me, he had a ready made team full of superstar players when he took the Madrid job, they already had a top team built for him.

Massive risk appointing Zidane, Poch has proved himself to be a manager who will play young players and can develop and build a team, which is exactly what Man U need.

You will see a massive improvement now he's gone. Utd are a mess, but a lot of it was down to his prehistoric tactics and ego

Christmas well and truly back on the cards for the Mourinho family here, they will be made up.

Meh he can't moan. This argument he wasn't backed is utter rubbish, he's spent fortunes on gash since he arrived. £75m on Lukaku, £50m on Fred, £30m each on Bailley and Lindelof, made Sanchez the highest paid player in the league.

He has no one to blame but himself, utterly ballsed up his dream job.

Oh I've no doubt that we'll see a marked improvement in them now, they've been deliberately playing as half arsed as possible for mouths. Sure, Mourinho can shoulder his part of the blame but the players have done way worse. They'll get the next manager sacked too if they don't like him either, player power at it's worst. Mourinho will do fine. He'll go elsewhere and win more trophies then Man Utd will.

Cardiff at the weekend I think I’d expect them to turn it on , standard player behaviour .

United have a team of superstar players as well though, the job is actually very similar to the one he took over at Madrid in that its a team playing way below its potential that had been led by someone whose glory days were a decade ago.

Poch is a great manager, but what he has done throughout his career is build teams - for which you need time, patience and a tolerance for signing unheralded players rather than "stars". He would not get that at United.

Strange isn’t it . You make very fair points but If I was a United fan I’d probably rather have poch than zidane which feels weird as I type it but it’s the choice I’d make .
