I'm a huge fan - but he was all at sea yesterday. The positioning for that last goal was someone totally out of sorts.
It happens. He was magnificent on Monday and has, generally, been for a number of years now. But yesterday was one of his vintage Newcastle meltdown games that we thought he'd got over.
I think he was at fault for nearly every goal in some way. That happens in teams sometimes - a collective, infectious series of errors as multiple players do the wrong thing. We had numerous chances to clear that second goal, for example, but failed to do so every time, and Pickford then compounded it all by batting it under his own legs.
I suspect this was a one-off, but we need a collective as well as individual response in both games next week. Four points minimum required.
