You can see the bitterness seeping out of his goblin skin the massive bulb headed bellend.
I'm not English, so I don't feel the need to big up English players. But I find it incredible that a media that almost ALWAYS exaggerates the excellence of English national team players goes out of its way to do down a player who has basically never been anything other than an asset to England. Forget Everton here - England.
Every two years I laugh heartily to myself when I see a huge section of the English media declare its national team "superstars" world beaters when they so rarely are. It's actually instructive that the one demonstrably world-class player England has - Harry Kane - was considered something of a meme until quite recently. Pickford shares something of this shade. Perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that neither Kane nor Pickford have played for the media's anointed clubs - Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, United, and City. Let's face it, Spurs were only ever given membership of the "big six" so the others could have somebody to point to and laugh at.
On a related note, one thing I love about Thomas Tuchel is how he has spent his first six months humiliating the likes of Bellingham, Foden, and others - in the best possible way. England will only win as a team, not as the Jude Bellingham or Cole Palmer show. Making them see that will be the key to success next year. I fear some in the media will only see value in Pickford or Kane if they have that World Cup winners medal around their necks. They don't need it, though. Quality players.
