Pickford agrees long-term Everton deal
Jordan Pickford has agreed terms on a new long-term contract with
Everton.
Pickford has agreed terms on a new four-year deal.
It was reported in September (below) that the club want Pickford to stay for the rest of his career – and that ambition has now moved a step closer.
His current deal runs until 2027, which would mark 10 years at the club, and the new deal is expected to extend that stay well beyond.
Last month the the proposed new contract offer could take Pickford past his 36th birthday. He will turn 32 in March.
Currently in his ninth season as an Everton player, Pickford has long established himself as England’s first-choice despite Everton’s well documented struggles against relegation.
Everton believe Pickford is happy, settled and open to the idea of committing the majority (possibly all) of his remaining years at the highest level to the club.
They are hopeful the positivity of the new stadium; new ownership; the encouraging upturn in form under
David Moyes; and a successful summer transfer window in which the signing of
Jack Grealish has been a real signal of the club’s ambitions.
