Jonjo is a good old fashioned fullback, not a winger at heart who has to track back to make a tackle.

I'd back him not to be brushed off and breezed past in defensive duties as Digne sometimes seems to be.

We had far more "squad" players last year who rightfully deserve stick before Kenny, especially as he hardly ever gets a game, let alone a run of games to prove himself. Again with the unlikely improvements we've seen under Benitez with certain players who knows what this lad may do.

Reminds me a lot of Hibbert if I'm honest, I don't necessarily mean that as an insult or a compliment.

That said, we would be much, much poorer as a team if we were forced to have Kenny playing for any sort of extended period. Coleman could maybe go on for another couple of years if he's managed properly, but Kenny can't be the one who fills the void. For the level we are trying to get to, he's some way short of the standard required.

Agree with the Hibbo comment 100%. Can't comment on your other points as Kenny simply hasn't had a run in the team to make a true summary of him.

Kenny didnt make much of an impression on Celtic fans at Scottish football standard. I am 100% convinced he would not be in any other premiership squad only he a local and in evertons squad.

Fair point re Celtic but just the few glimpses I've seen of him in a blue shirt this year he's look far from terrible to me. Luke Shaw was vilified not so long ago and Kenny in a way reminds me of him.
 
I think Gurnalot will turn out to be a ‘one club’ (contracted) player. He is not good enough (imo) to ever become an Everton legend, but, via sheer longevity of service, he could well satellite that orbit. I suspect my (presently unborn) grandchildren will , many years from now, watch Gurnalot, run out for Everton in some 2nd or 3rd round league cup tie. They will be sat in the Goodison grandstand with their very old granddad, beaming with laughter as Gurnalot makes a mistake on the field, and they’ll say “look Granddad, look at Gurnalot put on that funny face every time he makes a mistake”...I will look back at them with doting love and reply “yes, that look is called a gurn...and it’s how your grandad came up with Gurnalot’s nickname”. I can envision their peals of laughter on hearing that story from their very aged, (and increasingly forgetful), old granddad ...for the umpteenth time! Fabulous future memories lie ahead!!!

Let see how he progress under Rafael. He is not slow and physically fine. Decent in defend. His main problem is going forward. If Rafael can improve iwobi, which we are seeing now, no reason he can’t do the same with Kenny.
 
Terrible at Schalke , terrible at Celtic , not rated by Ancelotti or Benitez and can't get a game ahead of Coleman.

Tells you all you need to know.

Suspect that Championship or League 1 is his level.

Hibbert was an old school full back, boss defensively but crap getting forward.

He’s extremely slow, he bombed in the spl, got no hope in a big boys league
