Manchester Utd, Real Madrid and *insert random name here* have made last minute approaches?" or even "We are also in discussions with another team" Their relentless approach shows how desperate they are to sign him, he's clearly the best they can get so we should play it.

I think the thing is that no other club would contemplate paying that for our second best centre half and left back hence no bids mate.
Lets get it right....
He's not worth anything near 22m.
I would have sold for 18m.
Fukking wax work!!
Bollocks.
Sell him for £18m, taking it down to just over £15m after Wolves get their fee.
We then go and sign Taylor or Turner for £10m.
We would then have £5m to sign a left back and look to improve the side, otherwise all we have done is unsettle a defence and strengthen a rival.
With Ferdinands injuries, Lescott has every chance of starting the World Cup, he'll certainly be an England starter within the next few years. With that in mind, I would say at least £25m.
Man City paid £18m for De Jong - a player they could have had for £1.8m if they wanted to wait a few more months....
We paid £5m - a substantial amount for us when he was a no mark, unproven and had massive doubts over his knees.
