At least we'll get that rotten [Poor language removed] out our squad. Some papers are saying we're going to report City to the FA for misconduct.

Baffles me why we don't go with traditional tactics.

"Whats that you say? Manchester Utd, Real Madrid and *insert random name here* have made last minute approaches?" or even "We are also in discussions with another team"

Their relentless approach shows how desperate they are to sign him, he's clearly the best they can get so we should play it.

I think the thing is that no other club would contemplate paying that for our second best centre half and left back hence no bids mate.

Bye bye Lescott.

I can see us sign 3 players today if this goes through before midday. Reckon that Moyes has them all lined up and was just waiting for the money.

Taylor - Dunne (part of deal) and Banega (had to pay some kind of fee)

I then think we will sign 2 players as a punt on transfer deadline day.

Lets get it right....

He's not worth anything near 22m.

I would have sold for 18m.

Fukking wax work!!

Bollocks.

Sell him for £18m, taking it down to just over £15m after Wolves get their fee.

We then go and sign Taylor or Turner for £10m.

We would then have £5m to sign a left back and look to improve the side, otherwise all we have done is unsettle a defence and strengthen a rival.

With Ferdinands injuries, Lescott has every chance of starting the World Cup, he'll certainly be an England starter within the next few years. With that in mind, I would say at least £25m.

Man City paid £18m for De Jong - a player they could have had for £1.8m if they wanted to wait a few more months....

We paid £5m - a substantial amount for us when he was a no mark, unproven and had massive doubts over his knees.

As a defender, he's not a patch on Jags..

It's his goals that makes him stand out for us. I'd get Shawcross for 6-7m an Taylor for the same. Fukk lescott he's one bad ball-bag!!

he's 27 mate, he's peaked.

Anyway, I don't think he's worth 18m or 22m. But then Ronaldo isn't worth 80m.

Is the value of a player measured on how well he plays or how much someone is prepared to pay for him?

Centre backs usually get better with age.

I have no problem with the deal but the timing does piss me off, there's no way in hell we are going to get what we need in 10 days.

We've still got to sign the players we've been struggling to sign all summer, having to replace Lescott makes it even harder for us.

No way Lescott is worth 22m, but realism in football went out of the window a long time ago. Especially with the new owners at City, we should try to milk as much money out of them as possible and then it's :bye::bye: Lescott.

I can't stop laughing at this. £22 or £24 million for a 27 year old with dodgy knees and an even dodgier attitude? Remember when DM layed him at left back. He sulked and pouted for half the season, we should have seen the writing on the wall then I suppose.

At first I was well naffed off and still am at the behaviour of Man City and Hughes in particular but now I just think it's a complete gem.
The City fans are getting all excited about Lescott, yep, good player but hardly worth more than £15 mill. Shows how small minded they are really.

I bet DM walks into his office with a stern look, shuts the door and creases himself laughing that those pillocks at City actually fell for it!

Nice one DM, now go and spend spend spend.
