I think the thing is that no other club would contemplate paying that for our second best centre half and left back hence no bids mate.

Sell him for £18m, taking it down to just over £15m after Wolves get their fee.
We then go and sign Taylor or Turner for £10m.
We would then have £5m to sign a left back and look to improve the side, otherwise all we have done is unsettle a defence and strengthen a rival.
With Ferdinands injuries, Lescott has every chance of starting the World Cup, he'll certainly be an England starter within the next few years. With that in mind, I would say at least £25m.
Man City paid £18m for De Jong - a player they could have had for £1.8m if they wanted to wait a few more months....
We paid £5m - a substantial amount for us when he was a no mark, unproven and had massive doubts over his knees.

No way Lescott is worth 22m, but realism in football went out of the window a long time ago. Especially with the new owners at City, we should try to milk as much money out of them as possible and then it's

At first I was well naffed off and still am at the behaviour of Man City and Hughes in particular but now I just think it's a complete gem.
